FREE Gaming and Gambling Awareness Workshops

At YGAM we want to support you to have meaningful interactions with your children, covering the topics of gaming and gambling with the aim of preventing future harms.

We deliver workshops to both parents and those supporting children in care.  Please click on the sections below for further information and to book a session.

Workshops for Parents

YGAM Parents offer a 75 minute gaming and gambling awareness session for parents and guardians, covering the following:

  • Gambling: exploring the influences on children and young people
  • Gaming: discussing the benefits and concerns of gaming, including microtransactions
  • Understanding the blurred lines between gaming and gambling
  • Recognising the signs of harm and where to go for support

Workshops for those supporting Children in Care

YGAM Parents offer a City & Guilds Assured programme, providing information to those supporting children in care* around gaming and gambling and how to spot the signs of harm. 

Learning outcomes:

  • You will have an increased understanding of gaming and gambling
  • You will understand why children in care might game/gamble and the additional vulnerabilities they face
  • You will recognise the signs of gaming and gambling harm and know where to get further support 
  • You will be able to identify measures to support the children in your care
 
*Suitable for foster carers and those working in children’s residential settings.
